The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
