The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
