The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
