The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
