The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And by those who float in space, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
