The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
