The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When, behold, they will be in the (full) awakening (to Judgment). 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
