The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and gently take it away; 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
