The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
