The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
