The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun he has rebelled.” 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
