The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
