The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
