The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
