The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that Day will [men's] hearts be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
