The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people together 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
