The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
