The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Verily in this is an instructive warning for whosoever feareth (Allah). 26
