The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 and gently take it away; 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
