The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
