The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and gently take it away; 2 And by those who float in space, 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people together 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
