The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
46 verses, revealed in Mecca after The News (Al-Naba') before Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
