The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 And by those who float in space, 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 Yet he belied and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
