The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
