The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 and those that blow gently, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
