The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And who softly release the soul. (Of the believer) 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
