The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 and by those that speedily glide along (the cosmos), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
