The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
