The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
