The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
