The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say to him: "Would you purify yourself (from the sin of disbelief by becoming a believer)", 18 that I may direct you to your Lord and then you hold Him in awe?'” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
