The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the pluckers (the angels of death), violently plucking (the souls of the unbelievers), 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
