By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
