The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest." 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
