He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 Now as for him who believes himself to be self-sufficient 5 To him you give attention. 6 though you are not to blame if he would not cleanse himself. 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 Let him who will, pay heed to it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 lofty and pure, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 We send down abundant water, 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 In order to benefit you and your cattle. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
