He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 So you are after him! 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
