He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 Yet you pay attention 5 you attended to him, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and in awe of God 9 you ignore him. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and pious. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 Out of what did Allah create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then eased the way for him. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olives and palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
