He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 you eagerly attended to him -- 6 though it is not thy concern, if he does not cleanse himself. 7 And to him who came to you eagerly 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Not this way this is the advice. 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and herbage, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 and fruits and fodder 31 For use and convenience to you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 laughing and joyful, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
There are memorization exercises for the original Arabic and English transliterated Arabic modes only. The English translation mode has no memorization exercises.
