He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 And no blame is on you if he would not purify himself 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 to him thou payest no heed. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 It is contained in scrolls highly honoured, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and then, if it be His will, He shall raise him again to life, 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 and his mother and his father; 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but some faces will be covered with dust 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
