He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet (Peace be upon him)) frowned and turned away, 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 You never know. Perhaps he wanted to purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 to a rich man, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And he fears, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Noble and pious. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man reflect on the food he eats. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And garden-closes of thick foliage 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 wife and sons, 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 Such will be the Rejecters of Allah, the doers of iniquity. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.
