He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 and who has fear of God, 9 him didst thou disregard! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 and so, whoever is willing may remember Him 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of the noble, virtuous, 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, then assigns to him a grave, 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Indeed, he has not fulfilled that which He has ordered him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 And olives and palms 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
