He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And is afraid (of Allah and His Punishment), 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, Purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 noble and purified. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 He created him from a living germ. He determined his fate 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, (and how We provide it): 24 We poured out the rains abundantly, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and grape vines and vegetables, 28 olives, dates, 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 all this as a provision for you and your cattle. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on a Day when everyone will [want to] flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 As well as his wife and children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
