He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 How could you know? Perhaps he would cleanse himself, 3 or take heed and derive benefit from [Our] warning? 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 you attend to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fearfully, 9 You neglect. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So let whosoever will pay heed to it, 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then He makes the Path easy for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 We make the grain grow out of it, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And some faces will on that Day with dust be covered, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
