He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 you attend to him, 6 although it is not for you to be concerned if he remained unpurified. 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and who has fear of God, 9 You neglect. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 exalted and purified, 14 Written by the hands of emissaries. 15 Noble and pious. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 From what has God created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 then, when He wills, He raises him. 22 But no. He has not fulfilled what was enjoined on him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 And produce therein corn, 27 grapes, and fresh fodder, 28 olives, dates, 29 And thick gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 Man will fly from his brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing and full of joy, 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 o'erspread with darkness -- 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
