He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came unto him a blind man. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 For him who does not care, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 No indeed; this is only a Reminder. 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble, virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then, when He willed, He brought him out. (As during the night of Holy Prophet’s ascension, when all the Prophets gathered behind him in the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Or when Allah will raise everyone on the Day of Resurrection.) 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 fruits, and grass. 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Some faces on that day shall shine 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces that Day will be dust-stained, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
