He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (interrupting). 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 Now he who waxes indifferent, 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is no blame to thee if he grow not (in spiritual understanding). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And is also fearful (of God), 9 From him thou art distracted. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Cursed be man! how ungrateful is he! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 then causes him to die and buries him, 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 And olive-trees and palm-trees 29 and gardens dense with foliage, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 Then, when there comes As-Sakhkhah (the Day of Resurrection's second blowing of Trumpet), 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Blackness will cover them: 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
