He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him you give attention. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he feareth 9 You neglect. 10 NAY, VERILY, these [messages] are but a reminder: 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 In honored books, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and made the path of guidance easy for him to follow. 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let the human reflect on the food he eats, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 Then We cause to grow therein the grain, 27 together with grapes and vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And dense gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 On that day man will run away from his brother. 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his children. 36 on that Day each will be occupied with his own business, making him oblivious of all save himself. 37 [Some] faces, that Day, will be bright - 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
