He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 to a rich man, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And he fears, 9 Of him wast thou unmindful. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Noble and dutiful. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing did He create him? 18 Out of a sperm-drop did He create him and then determined a measure for him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 Then He causes his death and provides a grave for him. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 By no means he performed not that which He had commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 [how it is] that We pour down water, pouring it down abundantly; 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 and dense orchards, 30 and fruits and pastures – 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 AND SO, when the piercing call [of resurrection] is heard 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his children, 36 on that Day every man among them will have enough concern of his own -- 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked. 42
