He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 For him who does not care, 5 You pay full attention, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 No indeed, this is a Reminder; 11 so let those who want to follow its guidance do so. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted and purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 May man be slain – how ungrateful he is! 17 From what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 then the way eased for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He pleases, He will raise him to life again. 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and let the earth to break open 26 then caused the grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olive and palm trees 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruits and herbage, 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing, rejoicing at glad tidings. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 those -- they are the unbelievers, the libertines. 42
