He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 But what could tell you that per chance he might become pure (from sins)? 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But he who comes to you running, 8 and who has fear of God, 9 From him you are distracted. 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 and angelic scribes. 16 May man be slain how ungrateful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 and then, whenever He wishes, He will raise him back to life. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in fragments, 26 to yield therein corn, 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 the densely tree'd gardens, 30 And fruits and grass, 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 on the Day when each man shall flee from his brother, 34 and from his mother and father, 35 wife and sons, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 laughing and joyous 39 And many will be dust-begrimed, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
